Engine noise gets louder when shutting off

I noticed recently that when I park my SUV and about to shut it off, the engine seems to be making a louder noise. It's a noticeable increase right before I hit the off button. Has anyone else experienced this with their Aviator, especially a 2020 model? I've had mine for so long and this has never happened before. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Yep, mine did that too, ended up being the cooling fan kicking into high gear right before shutdown, so could be heat soak or a sensor acting up. Either way, have it checked before something bigger follows

I think it's just the fan. I experienced the same thing it was just the fan going full blast to cool things down. It could be normal but still it's worth checking if it starts happening more often.

Since it's a new development, I think getting it inspected by a mechanic would be a smart course of action!
Try to get someone who specializes in Lincoln vehicles to check it and diagnose it accurately to prevent bigger issues down the line.
I imagine it could be a few things like a worn muffler, a catalyctic converter issue, a vacuum leak, intake valve issue, or even a minor issue with your accessory belts or pulleys.
