Electric motor noise under hood even when the car is off

So, my bro's 2020 Lincoln Aviator started doing this weird thing in the garage the other day. He hadn't touched the car for over a day, but he swears he heard some electric motor running noise coming from under the hood.

When he popped the hood, the sound seemed to be coming from somewhere near the headlights. Totally random and kinda spooky since the car was off. Anyone ever run into something like this? Could it be some kind of relay or cooling motor acting up?

That sounds like the cooling fans or maybe the headlight washers if the Aviator has them they can sometimes run briefly after the car’s off. Could also be a relay sticking or a vent motor. Definitely worth checking out but usually not a big deal. Has it happened more than once?

Yeah, I thought the same thing. It's probably the fans or the vent motor running. Usually, it's no big deal, but it's smart to pay attention to it. Has it been happening a lot since then?

A typical mystery noise. Agree, It could be the cooling fans or even the headlight washers if his Aviator has them. Sometimes relays or vent motors stick briefly too. If it only happens now and then, it's probably fine. But if it's frequent, it's worth investigating or taking it to the dealer. Has he seen any warning lights or anything else odd besides the noise?
