Rear glass hatch latch loose on 2005 Aviator

My best bud bought a secondhand 2005 Lincoln Aviator and the rear glass hatch latch has some issues, unfortunately, that he didn't see. The metal loop doesn't align unless you hold it up while closing, which obviously isn't how it should work. Is it though? Does anyone here know if this is a replaceable part or a simple adjustment?

No, it's not how it should work. It's probably some previous damage to the striker or latch loop. You should be able to adjust it by repositioning it or tightening it. If that doesn't help, the striker can be replaced.

The loop definitely shouldn't need to be held up, if it's bent or rusted out, replacements are cheap and easy to swap
